Frontend Software Engineer (CMS)

Role Overview

Join the Directus core team as a Software Engineer with particular focus on the Frontend stack of Directus CMS's source-available monorepo. You will work on a mix of long-term and short-term projects implementing new features, fixing bugs, addressing enterprise customer requests and reviewing and guiding submissions from the Directus community.

What You'll Do

• Own development of projects to implement new large-scale features or improvements
• Develop reusable UI components, templates, and sample code to accelerate development
• Ensure UI elements meets a11y standards and can be fully localized
• Working to extend test coverage across the repo
• Interacting with community contributors to ensure publicly sourced code is of a high quality
• Assist with triaging publicly sourced issues and requests
• Help our small nimble team to streamline ongoing processes and workflows
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, support, marketing and sales teams to maximize quality from new features and fixes

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong TypeScript skills and full-stack JavaScript experience
• Proven expertise with Vue.js
• Solid understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs
• Familiarity with Node.js or other backend frameworks
• Experience with test-driven development
• Clear communicator and effective collaborator

Nice to Have

• Server-side rendering and static site generation experience
• Web security and authentication best practices
• Experience with the Directus CMS platform
